Geometry

The purpose of this course is to provide students with an overview of Geometry. Geometry is the mathematical study of lines, angles, and shapes. During this course, students will learn the properties of lines, angles, and planes, as well as quadrilaterals, triangles, and circles. Students will also learn the basics of presenting a formal proof. Each unit will also include the application of algebra.

We cover the following topics:

  • Essentials of Geometry; reasoning and proof
  • Points, lines, and planes; parallel and perpendicular
  • Triangle relationships; congruence and similarity
  • Trigonometry and right triangles
  • Quadrilaterals and circles
  • Length and area
